Mens Ministry

Men of CBC:

Randy Stinson and Dan Dumas open their excellent book--A Guide to Biblical Manhood--with the following challenge to men like us in churches like ours:

If ever there was a time we needed men to know their purpose and to be men, it's now.  Our world is filled with great uncertainty and instability ad leaders are hard to find.  We need men who aren't preoccupied with their amusements or appearance, but instead are willing and able to take on manly challenges.  But it's not enough for men to take up manly activities here and there.  Men abound who can do manly stuff (like shave with a straight razor, build fires without matches, and deep fry turkeys) while still being disengaged where their leadership is needed most.  Every day men hide behind computer screens or pleasure pursuits instead of engaging.  We need men with consistent character: integrity, courage, perseverance, and a willingness to sacrifice and lead for the greater good.  We need men of God.

I couldn't agree more.  That's why I'm inviting you to join us in our 4D Men's Ministry.  4D refers to the Four Directions Disciple.  As men, we must take the lead in growing as Worshipers, Servants, Witnesses and Disciplers here at CBC. 

We want all men ages 15 and older to join us in this annual 8-month journey that will include one monthly meeting, a weekly men's email from Pastor Jim, some manly fun, and timely challenges from pastors, outside speakers, and authors. 

Men, join us as we glorify God by making disciples in a community of grace.
